The areca nuts shall be not exceeding 30 mm whole fully husked, of light colour, reasonably well matured, free from blemish cracks, fissure and shall not be hollow inside . The areca nuts shall not be worm eaten or other be hollow inside

The areca nuts shall be whole and may be Slightly immature. Small cracks & fissures of allowed slight shrinkage is also permitted. In AI grade, adherent skin is not permitted.

General Characteristics:-

All nuts shall be

  1. Prepared from tender nuts

  2. Of uniform colour i.e. bright shining to dull red colour

  3. Free from insect infestation and visible mould; and

  4. Reasonably dry and be the tapering and posterior of the cut nut.

  5. Prepared from tender nuts

  6. Of uniform colour i.e. bring shining to dull and red colour

  7. Free from insect infestation and visible mould; and

  8. Reasonably dry and be the stalk end (anterior) of the cut-nut with a depression at the top.

  9. Prepared from tender nuts;

  10. Of uniform colour i.e. bright shining to dull red colour

  11. Free from insect infestation and visible mould, and

  12. Reasonably dry and shall include both anterior and posterior portions of the cut-nut (m)Prepared from mature nuts

Sampling

  • 5 % or minimum one container shall be randomly selected for sampling

  • 100gm shall be drawn from each selected container and shall be mixed homogenously, called as primary sample.

  • 100gm shall be drawn from primary sample called as Laboratory sample

Optional parameters are voluntary and may be analyzed as per buyer-seller agreement.
